Cause “URL” Had To Die

I’ve uploaded the latest version of athena just now. As far as I know the only issues that remain are as follows. They are being worked on, but Athena is now fully usable. A user can export, import, edit, add, and remove speeches. A note on exporting and importing. Exporting will export all speeches to the desktop, you can not pick and choose yet. You can import single speeches, but they have to be in sql format. See the forum for further details. Please report any bugs.

I’ve spent the past several days working on a partial re-write of Athena, mainly to do away with storing the speeches in files and have started using sqlite. This makes it much easier to work with and makes more sense in the long run. As soon as I get a few more bugs worked out, I will be releasing the new version. You can already access a “nightly build” on the development page but it is not guaranteed to work and you may experience odd issues. Also, please note that when installing this version, it will not read your old speeches. They will have to be added back into Athena. I apologize for this, but this will never happen again. The speeches directory is located in the Firefox profile directory under “athenaSpeeches”. All speeches are in this folder as individual files. Just open each one and paste the content as you would when adding a new speech.

Just thought I’d inform everyone that Athena 0.0.8 is still being worked on. I’m having to re-work a lot of functions and it’s a bit time consuming. Also, I haven’t had a lot of time to invest in development for the past couple of weeks but it is no inching forward.

I wanted to inform you all that Malware Search has been placed on the back burner for a short time while I work on another Firefox extension. The new extension that I’m working on is dubbed Athena and it is a canned speech manager. This is specifically for the helpers at the major malware removal sites. If you are such a helper and would like to see what Athena is all about, please leave a comment and where you are a helper and I will give you access to the developmental builds.

Back to Malware Search, I will continue to fix bugs but as of right now, there won’t be any new features for while.
